The CDC now recommends wearing a face covering when in public areas. Experts agree that wearing a mask is a good idea if you are caring for a sick person so you can reduce the chances that you’ll become infected. Face coverings can be made out of dense cloth or home-made by using bandannas, sweaters or towels and should cover both nose and mouth. Ideally, they should be washed after each use with detergent and hot water, then dried on hot cycle.
